Mexico approves the capital and civil unions for same-sex couples
Same-sex couples in the capital Mexico City are only a step away from legal recognition, according to local legislators, a law that conservative groups promise to challenge in the courts.
After five years of fierce debates to be held on Friday, Mexico legislature, dominated by a left-wing party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD), authorizes partnerships cohabitation law.
